DAVID FREEMAN, MD
Dr. David Freeman decided he wanted to be a doctor at the early age of six. After graduating from McQueen High School, right here in Reno, David attended the University of Nevada. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology followed by his Medical Degree from the University of Nevada, School of Medicine.

Serena
Billing & Office Manager

Serena joined our team as the Office Coordinator in late 2020 and has quickly become an invaluable asset. Serena has mastered patient communication, ensures our office is running smoothly and always has a smile on her face. She has completed the Medical Billing & Coding Course and is now certified. Serena has over 10 years of experience working in the medical field.
In her spare time she loves crafting, baking and spending time with her son and fiance. She also is a huge hockey fan - GO SHARKS!
Jami
Insurance & Authorization Specialist

Jami is our insurance and authorization guru. She verifies insurance and obtains necessary authorizations for procedures in, or out, of the office. Jami has over 10 years of experience working with insurance companies and providing high quality patient-care.
When Jami isn’t working, she loves spending time with her family. Jami’s favorite activities include attending her two daughter's sport functions, crafting, or just exploring the great outdoors.

Whitney
Practice Manager
When Dr. Freeman decided to open his own practice he needed cheap labor, and who better to fill that position than his wife, Whitney! That’s right - Reno Eye Institute is a family-owned business and when we first opened our doors we were the only “employees.” As the practice has grown Whitney has shifted into the role of Practice Manager. She misses the patient interaction and is thrilled when a patient asks to say hi when they return to the office.
Dave and Whitney met in 1997 as undergraduates at The University of Nevada. They both graduated in 2001, got married in 2003, spent two years in Las Vegas for medical school rotations, and then moved to Denver for four years for Dave’s residency. They had their son in 2010 and moved back to Reno that same year. Whitney earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing and worked in a variety of Account Management positions for clients in diverse industries while employed at different advertising agencies.
Whitney has been a member of the Alliance with the Washoe County Medical Society (AWCMS) since 2010 and helped the organization redesign their logo. Whitney was the founder and Chair for the AWCMS gala which raised over $75k for the Ridge House, a local non-profit organization. Whitney also served on the Board of Directors for The Great Reno Balloon Race from 2017 - 2020. Whitney’s favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends.
